By way of reminder, the draft Building Safety Levy Regulations need to be approved by Parliament. The Levy will not come into force until 1 October 2026
​
The Building Safety Fund is scheduled to close to new applications on the 1st September 2025, with the focus now being shifted to existing government-funded remediation schemes, including the Cladding Safety Scheme to deal with unsafe cladding in higher-risk buildings (i.e. those at least 18 metres in height or with at least 7 storeys)
The Government’s target remains to have buildings over 18 metres with unsafe cladding remediated by the end of 2029 and buildings over 11 metres with unsafe cladding wither remediated or have a date for completion by the end of 2029, failing which the Landlords will be liable for severe penalties
